Marion Bowman
Marion Bowman is a Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies in the Arts Faculty of The Open University. With a background in both Religious Studies and Folklore/Ethnology (she is a past President of both the BASR and The Folklore Society), her main areas of research are vernacular religion and contemporary integrative spirituality. She has undertaken long-term research on the town of Glastonbury (including the use of myth, the creation of tradition, pilgrimage, pluralism and the 'spiritual economy' there), and on contemporary Celtic spirituality. She co-edits JASANAS (Journal of Alternative Spiritualities and New Age Studies) and has organised numerous conferences on themes relating to the contemporary religious milieu.
