Teaching Spirituality through Story and Interspiritual Conversation in a Multifaith University Chaplaincy

MaryCatherine Burgess

In this interactive film workshop, participants will be introduced to the content and processes involved in creating All We’ve Got – a documentary film about what really matters when dealing with difference. All We’ve Got is an autoethnographic account of how students, staff, and chaplains from diverse spiritual, religious, and cultural traditions used film to help them tell their stories about finding common ground, while appreciating their differences, when exploring 'questions that matter' and 'issues that concern' in the areas of spirituality and multifaith. A delegation of four students and three staff members presented this documentary at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Melbourne, Australia in December.

Participants will be shown this 21-minute film; invited to dialogue about issues, concerns, and shared experiences raised in the film; and provided with materials describing spiritual development opportunities through the University of Edinburgh Chaplaincy.
